CARISSA HOLLY

Ilex cornuta 'Carissa'

Plant Description
Carissa Holly is a wonderful, compact, dense shrub with dark green leaves and a spine at the tip. This evergreen shrub can be used as a low hedge in containers or in mass plantings. Carissa Holly distinguishes itself from other leaf hollies by its leaf, with only one point at the end and a pale lighter green yellow edge to the leaves. During fall, Carissa bears beautiful red berry which is quite showy.  Carissa’s evergreen foliage is its main attraction. This plant has a height of 3-4 feet and has a spread of 4-6 feet.

Carissa thrives best in sunny areas although partial shade also works well for Carissa. Carissa is not fussy about soil conditions but well drained soil is the best bet. Regular watering is essential throughout the growing season to help establish root system.
