Plant Description
Cleyera shrub is an evergreen shrub with glossy leaves and soft foliage and is a good plant to use as a backdrop or lower screen hedge. The plants have a shiny, dense, dark green foliage with various shades of red and can also have a bronze or red colors such as the 'Bronze Beauty' and 'Leann' variety from Southern Living Plant Collection. These depend upon the exposure to light and season. The plant also comes with small, insignificant white flowers which are borne in clusters and are followed by dark red and yellow fruits. These plants are useful for border landscape in your garden. These are very slow-growing plants and can reach 6–10 ft high. The plants grow in upright position and have oval-shaped and glossy leaves which are 2-4" long with dark-green and red burgundy colored young leaves.
